In 1995, PreSonus patented digital control over analog circuits with our first studio product. Building on this legacy, they have created a separate digital volume-control circuit ahead of our lauded analog XMAX mic preamp design, providing the convenience of digital recall without sacrificing fidelity. This allows the StudioLive 32SC mic preamps to be remote-controlled with UC Surface software or Studio One®, and when you load a StudioLive 32SC mixer scene, the mic preamp trim values can also be recalled along with the other settings.

Everyone has a unique mixing style, so PreSonus designed the StudioLive 32SC to be configured to work the way you like to mix. The 16 FlexMixes in the StudioLive 32SC digital mixer can be individually configured to function as aux buses, subgroups, or matrix mixes. Four designated effects buses provide a total of 24 mix buses plus an independent solo bus and the main mix. We also provided 24 DCAs so you can more easily and flexibly control groups of channels. Inputs and buses can be freely routed internally, out to your AVB network, and over the USB bus, allowing you to customize your StudioLive 32SC to fit your needs - even when those needs change.

With 128 (64x64) channels of recording over USB, you can record every input channel and bus on your StudioLive 32SC for the ultimate recording rig. Each channel can independently access its analog input or its dedicated digital return from your computer. Ten vintage EQ and classic compressor Fat Channel plug-in models are included and can be used onboard your mixer, as well as within Studio One. And when you're ready for more signal processing options, PreSonus offers four Fat Channel plug-in collectionswith 15 additional models. The Expandable Fat Channel
Thanks to advanced engineering and the unique interoperability between PreSonus® hardware and software, you can enhance your StudioLive® Series III mixer and Studio One® Fat Channel with plug-in processors. These plug-ins are virtual signal processors that load in your StudioLive Series III console or rack mixer's Fat Channel, expanding your Fat Channel processor library much like plug-ins do in a DAW. Each plug-in comes in both StudioLive Series III format and Studio One format so you can use your new processor in both mixer and DAW Fat Channels.

Our eight classic compressors cover the gamut, including FET, tube, optical, and VCA designs. From soft, smooth attacks to fast, in-your-face response, you'll find it in the Fat Channel Collection.
RC-500 Compressor
FET-based compressors such as the one in the PreSonus RC 500 use transistors to emulate a triode tube's operation and sound. This type of compressor generally provides a faster attack time and better repeatability than the optical compressors typically found in channel strips. Modeled after PreSonus' RC500 signature FET compressor, this plug-in provides an ultra-fast attack time and repeatable performance.

In general, the response time of optical compressors tends to soften the attack and release, which can smooth out uneven volume fluctuations. Emulating an all-tube, optical design, the Tube P1B compressor delivers musicality, preserving the clarity of the signal even at the most extreme settings.

Equalizers
Each of these seven popular equalizers offers a different flavor, from the classic British sound of the Solar 69 to the subtle Baxandall; the smooth, refined VT-1 tube EQ; and the more modern, solid-state RC-500. As with all processors in the Fat Channel Collection, they're state-space modeled so they respond just like the original hardware circuits.
RC-500 EQ
It's rare to find a truly outstanding solid-state channel strip that can deliver a vintage vibe reminiscent of classic high-end products, yet employs a thoroughly modern design. The PreSonus RC 500 was one of these rare gems. The RC 500 EQ plug-in is modeled after the channel strip's 3-band semi-parametric EQ and combines isolated filters and optimized, per-band Q to provide subtle signal-shaping without harsh artifacts.

VT-1 EQ
The VT-1 EQ models a popular vacuum tube channel strip's 4-band semi-parametric EQ, which combines isolated filters and optimized, per-band Q. Designed with musicality in mind, this EQ is smooth and refined, which made it an instant classic.

Alpine EQ-550
The 1960s-vintage EQ provides consistent, repeatable equalization using three overlapping bands, divided into seven fixed frequency points, each with five steps of boost or cut. Its selectable peaking or shelving filters for the high and low band, along with an independently insertable bandpass filter, provide an easy path to creating acoustically superior equalization.
